‘Despite nearly three years of negotiation, the EU institutions fail to agree an improvement in transparency. EU voters cannot be impressed by the blame game and the sheer unwillingness to reach a compromised standard.
If the EU institutions cannot find a way in the last waning days of this Parliament to agree a text, then only hope now is to ask EU officials and elected representatives to ignore the defense of the Parliament’s “freedom mandate”, the Commission’s refusal to meet, the Council’s weak offer and call on all EU institutional and elected officials to ONLY meet with registered public affairs professionals who are lobbying.
It’s a simple rule, but a hugely important one. Time to get this over the line’.
