Following the update of its statutes in April 2025, SEAP has formally established a Disciplinary Committee to deal with complaints concerning compliance with SEAP’s Code of Conduct and ethical standards.
To finalise the set-up of this Committee, SEAP is now seeking an external expert to join two SEAP members and one other external expert. We invite experienced European affairs professionals to express their interest.
The Disciplinary Committee plays an important governance function within SEAP. It helps safeguard ethical behaviour, accountability and transparency within the profession, an approach that has also been publicly praised by former European Ombudswoman Emily O’Reilly.
What we are looking for:
- Senior experience in European affairs (public affairs, EU institutions, NGOs, associations, academia or related fields)
- A strong understanding of professional ethics, integrity and accountability
- Independence, sound judgement and discretion
- No current conflicts of interest with SEAP members
What the role involves:
- Participation in the Disciplinary Committee as an external expert
- Reviewing complaints, if and when any arise, in line with SEAP’s statutes and Code of Conduct
- Contributing to fair, balanced and transparent procedures
The workload is minimal – no complaints have been submitted to date. Nevertheless, the role is essential to SEAP’s commitment to high professional and ethical standards.
How to apply:
Interested candidates are invited to send a short expression of interest outlining:
- Their relevant experience
- Why they would be a good fit for this role
If you are interested in contributing to the integrity and credibility of the European public affairs profession, we would be very pleased to hear from you. Please contact us by 13 February 2026 via the contact form.
