Upon reaching the end of the present year of activity SEAP is launching a new brand – LobbyEurope. This platform is not only intended to be a home for lobbyists in the European Union, but also a platform dedicated to educating the general public about the important role lobbyists play in a democratic society.
Amongst other things, in this platform you will be able to find:
– Explanations regarding the role and activities of the lobbying professional;
– Events, Press and Media releases connected with the lobbying profession;
– A section on ‘Rules and Regulations’, outlining the current European, International and National regulatory frameworks (for Member States of the EU) around lobbying and transparency.
Furthermore, along with the launch of LobbyEurope, SEAP will also be launching its Transparency Pledge, an advocacy campaign that will ask EU stakeholders to call for rules on fair access to the institutions by making sure that professional lobbyists who abide by transparency rules are in a position to freely participate in democratic debates without risking being silenced just because they are part of certain industry groups. SEAP believes that this is an important step to assure an open and democratic society where the fairness of participatory rights is guaranteed.
