The European Commission has launched a call for evidence for its forthcoming Communication on BetterRegulation. This is a debate that matters to everyone working in European public affairs.
The consultation invites practical input on how EU law-making can be improved: from balancing evidence-based policymaking with the need for urgent action, to making stakeholder consultations more coherent, and ensuring EU rules are simpler and easier to apply in practice.
Within SEAP, our Better Regulation Working Group is actively engaged in this process. The discussion will not stop with this consultation. It will continue in the months ahead as the Commission develops its approach.
European public affairs professionals are warmly invited to get involved, share their views, and contribute to this important debate. The call for evidence is open until 4 February 2026 via the Commission’s Have Your Say portal.
